It’s Mother's Day...Appreciate Your Wife

Mothers often don’t want expensive gifts from their kids or husbands for Mother’s Day. They just want to feel appreciated for everything they do. As a husband, you can show your appreciation for the mother of your children in different ways. Your wife does much more for your family than you can see on the surface and she deserves to be loved and respected every day. Respect can be defined in different ways, so it’s important to understand what she might think is disrespectful. One way is to respect her wishes on Mother’s Day and let her do what she wants to do. If that means taking the kids away for the day so she can lie on the couch and watch television, then let her do it. But on a daily basis, respect your wife by never talking behind her back or making her sound bad to other people. And show your appreciation for her not only on Mother’s Day, but every day.

Wash the dishes before she gets to them, do a load of laundry or two, vacuum the floors, or anything else she normally does. Your wife might feel stressed or overwhelmed with all the little things she has to do every day, so giving her a break from some of them can help her tremendously.

It’s easy to tell your wife you appreciate everything she does as your wife and the mother of your children. But sometimes actions are much better than words. When you tell your wife you appreciate her for something as simple as making dinner, show her how much you appreciate it by doing the dishes for her. You don’t have to go above and beyond, and every small gesture makes a huge difference.
